$400 for 3 up dos?!?! Sunday budget-friendly hairstylist needed!

I've been searching high and low for an affordable hair salon in the Orleans/Eastham area. Thought I found the perfect one, but they're charging me a lot extra to open their salon on a Sunday. Unlike almost everyone else posting for hairstylists, I feel like I need to get ready in the salon. I don't have a private place to get ready where my family or my FI's family is staying, and the venue doesn't have a place for me to get ready either. :( I thought it was going to work out, but I'm getting nervous I haven't found someone yet or had a trial yet, and I really wasn't looking to spend more than $250-300 absolute max for me and my two BM's. I know it's my wedding day and it's important for our hair to look good for pictures, but I can't see spending more on our hair than I did on my gown. (FI and I are footing 99% of the cost for our wedding.) If I absolutely had to (read: if the stylist was dirt cheap) I might force myself to get ready where my family is staying...

Can you ladies who had tight budgets let me know how you found affordable yet talented hairstylists, or any of you who are also getting married on a Sunday also tell me who you found to do your hair? For the rest of you, did you really spend close to this amount for the equivalent of you and two maids? Any direction would be phenomenal! TIA!

My hair stylist is charging $85 for me, $70 for BM if getting updos and $50 if blowing out hair....and she is coming to me.  Does that qualify as dirt cheap for you?  I absolutely refused to pay more than $100 for my hair, mostly because we don't have money for more than that, but also on principle.  It's just hair.  I had my hair trial already, and she was great.  Let me know if you want info.

Sorry, I just reread that post, and realized it sounded a little snarky.  But really, if you want more information let me know.

That does sound more affordable. I got the info from a pp you commented on. Thanks!! One question though, how did you coordinate the trial? It looks like they work exclusively 'on location'? I live a few hours away from where we're getting married...

She came to my house for the trial. Trial was $65, and we probably spent close to 2 hours playing around with it.

    Hey!
I also would ask around friends and family and see if they know anyone who does hair.  Don't be shy!  My friend got married - paid several hundred for her hair and makeup and then discovered that her girlfriend's cousin does hair and makeup.  They had a second reception later in boston and actually her hair and makeup looked better the second go around when the friend did it for much less!  Good luck!
