No bouquet?

I'm thinking about not having a bouquet when walking down the aisle. Do I have to have one or should I use something else?

Re: No bouquet?

  • You can use whatever you want or you don't have to have anything at all.

I would suggest that you carry something because it will keep your nervous hands occupied so that you aren't constantly wringing them together or wiggling your fingers, etc.

  • A friend-of-a-friend carried a large, beautiful fan, with her maids carrying smaller fans of similar style.  It made for gorgeous pictures.

I've seen brides carry a number of other objects other than bouquets--candles, Bibles, "bouquets" made of buttons and fabric, etc.  But of course, if you'd prefer to walk down the aisle unencumbered, by all means.

I like the fan idea. I've also heard about having a bouquet of broaches. I just can't make up my mind. Guess it will come to me. Thanks
  • You don't HAVE to have one, and if your dress and well, you, are glamourous enough, many people will be staring at you too much to notice that you don't have a bouquet.  BUT there will be people who notice, and who'll be a bit confused. How about a cute lamp, or a "pom pom" ball. If your gown isn't elaborate, I would at least hold something, so that it doesn't look too bare. But, it's you and your fiance's wedding, you should do what ya'll want. :-)
