Candy bar/Dessert station

Is anyone here doing a candy bar or dessert station? I was planning on buying all the items for the candy bar and then having my coordinator set everything up. Does anyone have any helpful hints on where to buy supplies that are inexpensive? Is anyone hiring a company to do their stations and if so how much are you paying?

I just don't feel like dealing with this and would like to just pay someone to handle but I don't want to be completely ripped off.

Thanks in advance!

  • Yes i definitely want a candy station! Only had a quick look around on the internet, but i think online is the way to go. Search for something like wholesale candy or bulk candy, theres plenty of sites.

Love that you can search by colour too!

  • I am doing one too but as a DIY. I got the canisters from garage sales. Everyone has vases in different sizes. I just made sure my balled up fist could go in and out of it. The cheapest vase was a quarter and the most expensive was a dollar. In addition, I bought an apothecary vase for ten at homegoods and a large wide mouth vase at the thrift shop for 3. Will buy the scoops and bling them out myself. The DIY forum has lots of ideas such as how much to buy, etc.

  • I am doing an ice cream bar and my venue provides everything. I think it's around 3.50 or 4.50 per person I forget.

  • We were going to do it but decided against it at the last minute but a friend of mine did it recently for her daughter's bat mitzveh. She said you might want to look into getting the candy from a local place rather then from online because they will charge you up the wazoo for ice packs for the candy so it doesn't melt. There is a place in Wilton Manors in Ft. Lauderdale called To The Moon. I called and spoke to Tony and emailed him a list of the candies I wanted and he promptly sent me the price list for them. This is the website: http://www.tothemoonmarketplace.com/ good luck!
