Ceremony Venue w/ Ocean view but not on a beach? Oahu locations only

Wanting the best of both worlds :)  Wondering if anyone has heard or can recommend any venue sites that offer an ocean view but that is not going to be a "beach wedding".  Not wanting it on the beach, but would prefer more of a lawn, garden, seaside chapel that has the view of the Ocean.  Here are some that I've already looked into:
Paliku Garden (Kualoa Ranch)
Lanikuhonua
Paradise Cove
Bayer Estates
Looking for Oahu locations.

I don't have personal experience, but I've heard good things about Oasis World Estates.  Someone asked about Haiku Gardens earlier this week.  I personally love the look and feel of the Bayer Estate.  HTH!  :)

Haiku garden was me as well :)  They are still a contender however, no view of the ocean...it's really in the middle of tropical garden views w/ mountains in the background.  I have checked out the Bayer Estates...but they go in the same category as Lanikuhonua...so dreamy but pricy! lol.
Thanks for getting back to me though, I will check out Oasis world estates.

Ditto on Oasis World Estates.  I don't have any experience with them, but we looked semi seriously when we started planning.  As fate would have it, a friend of mine from college now runs it, so he had offered to help us out.  But, we settled on Maui instead.

Many resorts will also have lawns with ocean views.  Other possibilities that have been mentioned on the board:
    Ihilani Ko'olina Resort
    Turtle Bay
    Sullivan Estate

I second Kualoa Ranch. I've been to a few weddings there. One was on the water but it was a grassy area and totally private. Loved it!

Thanks everyone for the amazing suggestions!  I am really hoping for Kualoa Ranch, Palku Gardens to work out.  I just love the view from there and of the china man's hat.  We wanted an ocean view but not necessarily have a beach/sand wedding.  I'm not sure if Paliku Garden has a back up location though if the weather calls for rain?  Anyone know?

I heard it rains quite a bit in Hawaii :(

A tent is always a great backup plan.  I was really opposed to one at the beginning, but the reassurance of having cover weighed out.  In the end, I'm so glad I did because it created an outdoor dining room which turned out pretty nicely!  (We didn't end up having any rain at all)

What month are you considering?  If you're in rainy season, DEFINITELY get a tent plus an additional backup possibility.

Hau Terrace @ Halekulani. Private ceremony / reception overlooking Waikiki / Diamond Head. The Sheraton on Waikiki also has a balcony with a nice ocean view however its not very large and won't accommodate many people.

  • has anyone gotten married at one of the Ko'olina chapels run by the Watabe japanese wedding company? that's where they referred me when i inquired to koolinaweddings.com.  (Ko'olina chapel, aquaveil frais chapel, and honu kai lani chapels). i'm having trouble finding any information from real users about them. it seems that they mainly cater to japanese destination wedding couples, so i want to know how they are for american couples. please let me know if you have any information!
