Shoes...Shoes....Shoes

So, my wedding is in July and it is a vintage style wedding in pale yellow and pewter grey. I have always had the dream of having the perfect shoes for my wedding ( I am definitely a shoe girl)...well, I found the perfect shoe, but I need to find a way to buy them! These are the shoes I am in LOVE with! (White and silver w/ strap).

These shoes are way more than I budgeted, so I settled and bought these:

These are cute, but they are also what my bridesmaids are wearing and I am worried they won't be as comfortable as my "dream" shoe....however I have a hard time spending $245 on a shoe when I could put that money towards something else.

What to do?!?!?

  • Those are so cute! I feel your pain. I couldn't spend that either. Have you looked at other brands for white satin pumps? Dyeables and touch ups are 50100 online at places with free shipping and returns zappos.com, shoebuy.com. I think you could easily add a silver ribbon to a white pump to get the Mary Jane look. Just something to think about.

I LOVE Hey Lady. I bought my shoes from them as a sample and received a 30% discount. Email them (you'll find it in their FAQs) and see if they have any samples in your size in that shoe. They were amazing with me - great customer service!

The discount depends on the condition of the shoe. They definitely overstated the flaws in the shoe I bought ... when I received the shoes, they looked nearly perfect to me!

  • I'd keep looking, you never know what you might find!  I love zappos.com for shoes, free shipping and return shipping if you don't like them.

  • Thanks for the advice! I am not a fan of open toe.....I will probably keep looking and/or stick with what I already bought. I could never justify the $245 as an expense. And thanks pattib5...I already emailed them and they didn't have any. :(
  • I spent $267.00 on my shoes, but I was able to justify it because I knew I would wear them over and over again with any dressy attire. Sometimes purchasing a more expensive product can be jusitfied by figuring out how much the cost-per-wear is...if you're gonna wear them a ton buy them! I will tell you from personal experience, I own the second gray pair you listed and the patent leather on the inside rubs the outside of my feet and causes blisters, even after just a few hours of wear. I don't want you to be uncomfortable on your wedding day!

  • csweaney,

Thank you for sharing your experience....I would totally wear them over and over again. I work at a law office and am pursing a profession where I have to dress up daily and go to court, so they would definitely get re-used...

I also got the okay from my fiance yesterday as long as I can find room in the budget! So exciting...just running numbers and then we will see!

Thanks everyone for the advice and input!

Yayyyy!!  It's nice when the little things work out, huh?

Enjoy your shoes....they can certainly make a woman feel beyond fabulous :)

  • Thanks OBX2011...that's exactly what my FI said...if they will make you feel more fabulous than you already are, then buy them! He's so sweet!
