Austin Florists?

I have no idea how to go about picking a florist. Somewhat randomly I am looking at Petal Pushers, Exquisite Petals and The Glass Fountain (because it is close to my venue, which is Villa Antonia, past Cedar Park).

Anyone have a florist that was affordable and wonderful? Or other advice?

Thanks!

I am using Rosehip Flora. They are great designers and happy to work within whatever your budget is. http://rosehipflora.com/

I'm working with Donna Foster in Central Market's Floral Department. She is very accomodating and creative (which I need, because I am not creative at all) and extremely reasonable on prices.

I'm using Martha at Parcrest Floral Design. She's so fun and creative and verry reasonably priced!

If you look at some other florist recommendation posts, you'll see tons of raves fro Rebekah at the The Glass Fountain. I thought for sure this is who we'd be using and then Kelsey posted her reviews from her wedding in May. She used Rebekah and said the flowers were brown & wilting. I'm not sure what would have changed, but I just wanted to let you know . . .  Kelsey's vendor reviews are on this page just a little below here.

Judie, as the post above me mentioned, I did use The Glass Fountain for my May wedding. There is a review post a little ways down page 1 of the forum, or in my bio (link in sig). I just updated the review with photos because the validity of my claims was being questioned. You can email me at kelseymw at gmail dot com to discuss further in private.

I have also heard not good things about Glass Fountain from my venue/day of coordinator, I would recommend not using her.

I'm planning to use Petal Pushers, but haven't had a chance to meet with them yet.  I'm using them based on my coordinator's recommendation.

Hmmm....thanks kelsey, I actually have an appointment schedule at the Glass Fountain, but may reconsider using them. Petal Pushers is another florist I was looking into. And Exquisite Petals is the third I have an email out to right now. Glass Fountain was attractive to me because it is closer to my venue. Villa Antonia is way out past Cedar Park, but after hearing your experience....I may reconsider them. I will probably go to the appointment, but be a bit more cautious then perhaps I would have been. I may email you to discuss further after I decide what to do with that appointment.
    Thanks!

Please see my vendor reviews I just posted.  I would recommend you also meet with Bouquets of Austin.

I have heard fabulous things about Bouquets of Austin.  If you look at a previous post of vendor reviews by DAA she loves them.  I also googled them and reviewed their website as I am thinking of booking them for an upcoming wedding I am planning.

Their prices are reasonable and their work fabulous.  Just another to keep in mind on your big day.  Good Luck!

Donna Foster with Central Market Floral Department saved me $600 - 900 on floral costs when I was married in 2006.

Her flowers were gorgeous & very high quality.  She also supplied more flowers than the florists I had received quotes from.

When I send flowers I always use Enchanted Florist.  They do alot of the arrangements for the Capitol.  I am sure they would do wonderful wedding flowers.  I have no idea about cost but would look into it.
