I Knew That I Shouldn't Have....

...listened to me FI.  Now we may have more people at the wedding than we can accommodate.  He kept saying, "invite this person, invite that person".  We're probably only going to have 60 people at the wedding, well, we're at 89 and the last day for RSVPs is Wednesday and I anticipate at least  40 more "yes" responses.  I hope that I am wrong.  I was really hoping for only 100 people.  I think that would be a nice number.  My venue, I think, comfortable holds 100 people.  She said that it can hold 130 people standing with some seating.  I don't see how, but I guess she knows because she's hosted events there.  I just think that if we have more than 100 people we are going to be uncomfortable.  Oh why did I listen to him.  I should have known that he doesn't know what the hell he is talking about!

    my man doesn't understand things like that. He thinks to get 100 people we need to invite 150. What if they all show up?

    Desi, they just don't get it.  This is why I'm in the mess that I'm in now.  I'm just hoping that everything works out.

    We've done the same thing...our wedding venue will hold 100 and we're at 139 to be invited. The reception is at 249 people and we'reonly planning to pay for 200. I hope that these folks don't all show up.

    Oh no! I'm sure it'll be ok...

    Worst case scenario, you have more friends & family to share your day with!

    Also, at least its not 5 people in a HUGE ballroom. This way your guests will feel like you two are well loved!

    So sorry to hear that Tam!  I think it will turn out fine - it may be tight in there, but as the PP said you will feel well loved!  

    We plan to invite 150 initially and see who responds, then invite more as we get people saying "no".  Our goal is to have between 120-150 people there in total.

    Thanks ladies.  Yay!  I think you're right.  It should be fine.  We'll have cocktail tables set up outside in case it gets too crazy.

    Tam,

    Just check on the fire codes to ensure that the venues will allow all of your guests to come in.  Sometimes they have a limit.

    We invited more people than we thought would come thinking that we'd have a 75% acceptance rate.  Isn't that what the internet says? :)  Well, we have close to 90% acceptance rate and all RSVPs are not due in until the 27th!  Yes, this is an issue right now. All I can do is laugh right now and see how we are going to work all this out.  Hopefully, we won't need more tables and can squeeze them all in b/c it will already cost more in dinners (it's per person) and if we need more tables, the florist bill and the covered chair bill and the tablecloth bill will also go up. (Shaking my head)

    Man, Deidre.  I'm sorry to hear that girl.  See, that was my fear from the beginning.  I wish I would have listened to my gut.  But we'll see.
