We have all of our household items and then some. We are saving for our first house. What is the best way to direct gifting and guests  to  a "house fund"?
What information is appropriate in place of a list of gift registries?

    You can't really ask people to give you money for a house fund.  What you can do is have friends and family, if asked, tell people that you are saving up to buy a house.  You don't have to have a registry at all, or you could do a small registry.  People will know that cash gifts are appropriate.

    There is good way of asking people for money because it's rude.
    People know cash is good and have your family help spread the word you are saving for a house, people will get the idea.
