OMG. I am FLIPPING out. FI and I just got tickets (for ourselves and my parents) to see Paul McCartney in August. We are dying over these tickets. I just flipped open my calendar to put the date in and realized, holy CRAAAAAAAAAAP, that I have a wedding that day pretty far outside the city. The wedding is at 3. I don't know if the reception is right after. The concert is at 8 in south philly. I am SCREWED and really bummed. I wonder if I can do both. Would the bride hate me forever? She's having a fire-hall reception, I think buffet style. She's Rob's friend, we know her from all his band stuff. So maybe she'd understand? UGGGGGG I can't believe this.

I suppose you could cut out a little bit early to catch the concert.

To add, if I were you I would explain to her the situation, and see how long you could be at the wedding. Are you really good friends with her?

I am not close with her. Her fiance is the guy who does the sound engineering for one of FI's bands. So really, he'll have to figure this one out! He said we should wait and see when the invite comes if the reception is starting right after or later on and then figure it out. They are music people, and its a very laid back wedding (her 2nd, his 3rd) so hopefully they would understand if we cut out early. I feel awful though, I did have their wedding in my date book first.

I understand why you feel bad. I would also feel bad. I also would make FI figure it out if they are more his friends. haha. good luck! I am sure it will work out. I hope you have fun at both events!

Yeah, we'll see. I know for sure we will go to the ceremony, that's not a problem. Have to figure out about the rest though.

I would totally leave the reception to go to the concert if it wasnt a good friend. Chances are they wont even notice or care you left, as long as you go to the ceremony and bring a gift

I agree with ooodsie . . . they probably won't notice. Just don't forget a gift they would probably notice that lol. Plus it is their 2nd/3rd weddings.
