  I am a BIG fan of going to a place like Nordstrom or Lord & Taylor..both have awesome quality and a variety of choices....

  What size are you looking for in a messenger bag?
  
  I agree with trueleo about Coach has really cute messenger bag, but they tend to be on the small size if you plan to carry a lot of stuff.  I used mine for my trip to singapore  and it was able to hold my Sony camera which is a little bulky, my tour book, small wallet and a few makeup stuff and keys etc etc.  I really love it. 
  
  If you are looking for something bigger Timbuk2 bags are really great!  I have two in different sizes and no complaints so far!!
