Hai girls. So, I have two pieces of good news.
1) I got a job yesterday. I'm going to be a waitress in a restaurant in Kenmore Square. Since my legal internship is unpaid, this will be great for helping us save for the wedding. I'm pumped.
2) FI AND I BOOKED THE VENUE!!! AHHHHHHH! The venue sent us the agreement...we have to print it out, read it, sign it, and return it with the deposit within one week...which we will do. I was able to negotiate $1000 off the price of the venue and negotiate $2000 off the price of the downpayment! And I got him to throw in the couple's cabin for free! YAY!
So, it's official...my wedding day will be August 4, 2012!!!! And we'll be married in Lincolnville, Maine.
YAYYYYYYYY!
Re: I haz newssssss....

As for the negotiation, I told the guy "Listen, we're relatively young. FI works, but I'm a full time student. We're paying for the wedding ourselves. Any amount we could save off of the cost of the venue, no matter how small, would be a HUGE help for us to throw the wedding of our dreams. Also, I know you said we only needed to give you a 1/3 deposit, but if you were willing to give us a discount, I'd be willing to give you a 1/2 deposit now, in cash." I just used the "we're poor students on our own" bit to get us $1000 off, plus a free cabin...and he still is only asking for a 1/3 deposit!
Soooo...yeah. It was pretty awesome.
I'm so excited!!!!
