Introduction (sorry...kinda long)

Hi everyone!

I am so sorry that I haven't done this yet, but I realized how much of a butthole I was for asking advice from everyone when no one knows anything about me! So here goes:

I am 27 years old, and I was born in Jordan in the Middle East. My parents moved us here when I was 12 years old, and we have lived in Arlington, TX ever since. I met my fiance Erik during my senior year of high school through mutual friends. We have been together ever since (Yes!...9 years!). I graduated with a degree in Radiology, and I am continuing my education and hope to receive a PH.D. and begin research related to cancer detection, prevention and treatment as it relates to the field of radiology.

Soon after I graduated from college, my FI and I bought our first home in Mansfield, where we currently live with our sweet dog Sosa. We were engaged 11/2010, bough our first home 11/2011 and we're getting married 11/2012...all coincidences, but still pretty awesome!

Anniversary

  • Hi and welcome! Where are you getting married? Do you have pics? Also, definitely going to need to see a pic of the fur kid.

lol fur kid! love it! I do have pictures and I will post them as soon as I can! We are getting married in Grand Prairie @ The Historic Anderson Building...they also call it Victor's Event Room, but I much prefer The Historic Anderson Building, especially since it fits the place way better!

  • Oh my gosh. That dog. I die. He looks about the same size as mine!
  • Thanks angel! I love that man..he is my soulmate 100% and the only one that ever "got me"! November is definitely our month! well, besides December...we were both born on Christmas day!

Cwaggoner...he is the best dog EVER! We found him one day when we were walking...posted signs and picture and no one ever called, so adopted him as our baby! He does look about the same size as McFly! They even sit the same...Sosa always has that regal stance when he's sitting down lol

Welcome! You and your FI are so cute. And as a November bride myself, I am totally biased but you picked a great month! ;) I have heard of Victor's Event Room but never seen a Knottie wedding there so that's exciting.

Thank you stephie! We are both hot natured people who love the cold, so we didn't want a hot spring or summer wedding. We are even willing to brave the crazy November Texas weather so that we don't sweat it out! November is an AWESOME month!!

I'm super excited about our venue...it's so beautiful on the inside...lots of wood and high ceilings...lots of old world charm, which I'm incorporating into our decorations...I can't wait to be married to him and to have an amazing night full of dancing!!!

  • Thanks guys! Everyone here IS super sweet and very awesome...I'm loving all the support and advice...it means a lot because, as I'm sure a lot of you may have noticed, not a lot of people want to hear about someone's wedding plans all the time! This is a great sounding board where people actually WANT to help and give helpful advice, rather than just saying "You'll be fine" which is so annoying sometimes!!

No, we're in north Fort Worth now, but my parents still live there so I'm over there all the time. We may move back over there eventually, when we're ready to "settle down" and/or have kiddos (if ever, haha). :) I'm just not sure how I feel about possibly seeing people that I used to go to school with all the time, but it would be worth it for some free babysitting!

I understand...I only keep in touch with my closest friends...most everyone else just stays in touch on FB and then acts like strangers in person lol

We were hoping to find a home in Arlington that fit what we were looking for, but we wound up buying a house in Mansfield instead. It's still close enough to Arlington to swing by whenever, but it's nice to have a new neighborhood and different surroundings to call home
