  My fiance tried to get our reception there but found the owner very unorganized and unprofessional. We didn't end up using it because we didn't have the confidence that the reception would run smoothly. Hopefully, the owner has figured out how to run the bisiness better. It's a beautiful spot for sure.

  How long ago did your finance try to work with Merriweather Manor? What place did you chose to have your wedding at?

  The venue is gorgeous, & the owner is very sweet.  I got the feeling from the owner that he would do anything to make your day very special.  I did feel that he hasn't had much experience in the wedding industry, & I would think that you'd need a wedding planner/coordinator if you decided to have your wedding/reception there.  On his price list, I saw a note that the caterer is responsible for setting up the tables/chairs.  So, you'll need a diagram (or have your wedding planner do it) to provide to them.
  
  Keep in mind - If your wedding is sizable, you may need to rent portable toilets.  They only have 2 bathrooms onsite (with a 3rd in the bridal suite). 
  
  & always be sure to get a price list from any venue that you visit.  Some venues say "we can provide X" but that doesn't mean that it doesn't come with a price tag.

  Yesterday I booked my wedding at Merriweather Manor for May 5, 2012. I am so exicted. My mom came into town and we showed her Merriweather and we met with the owner Andrew. After showing my mom the venue and dicussing the contract, we signed the contract and paid the deposit. Yay!!!
