going to look at perona farms

Did anybody recently have a wedding there, I am going to get married next year and am thinking about using them from reviews if I like them. How was your wedding there?

Re: going to look at perona farms

  • I've attended there as a guest twice.  They do a great job.  Great food, great service, a very pretty environment.  About the only negative thing I can think of is that they will do two or maybe even three events at the same time.  But even that they seem to manage very well.
  • I attended a wedding there in 2008. I was under the assumption that the couple was on a strict budget (but could be very wrong), and I enjoyed this event as much as any event where the couple decided to splurge.

I remember we all had a lobster course of a lobster tail that was quite yummy, she had a small band that played good music but wasn't super loud (that is part of her planning, not the location, but it stuck out in my mind), and the cocktail hour was outside in the courtyard.

I've been to a lot of weddings and many of them start to blend, but when I think back of that one, I remember it was nice. Hope that helps!

  • We looked at Perona Farms for our wedding, but ended up booking somewhere else.  I have also been there as a guest at someone else's wedding.  The food is good and the grounds are beautiful.  Prices are very reasonable and the coordinator that helped us, Jonathan, was very nice.

They can have two weddings at a time - which can be confusing for guests and make it crowded.  They do try to make it as clear as possible for guests (signs up for which wedding is where and also they use separate entrances for each wedding).

The food is good and you can basically make your own menu.  Some of the food choices are a little out there so if you have a lot of picky eaters or more traditional eaters, they may not like that.

There are two rooms.  One room is beautiful and if you are in that room you have the use of the spiral staircase inside that is awesome for pictures.  Also, this is where they hold the ceremony if it rains, but only if you are in that room.  The minimum for that room is pretty high- you have to have at least 120-130 people to be in there.  The other room is not as nice, kind of odd shaped, and, if you are in there, you cannot use the staircase for anything, even just a picture. The inside ceremony space for that room is not nice at all (a small outdated side room)

Sorry this was a long post, but I tried to give as much info as possible.  Hope it helps!!

  • Perona farms is a lovely venue.  I've been to many weddings and tons more other events there.  There is a space across the street where you can take gorgeous outside photos.  You have a lot of options with rooms, inside, outside etc.  The prices are great.  The food & the service are good.  If you don't know, they are famous for their salmon.  It's so good they supply the Oscars in California every year.
