  I think you've got to go with something that represents your personality. I've seen couples do the Disney theme, or Alice in wonderland (http://pinterest.com/photooppbride/engagement-photos/) that were cute, but if that's not your style it would be silly! Dancing or playing outdoors is popular for engagement photos, too.
