Fall wedding antique garden/schoolhouse HELP!

I have a dilemma.  Getting married in September, and thus was thinking fall burgundies, reds, oranges, etc.. However, ceremony and reception are in a green, very antiqued romantic garden area with an antique schoolhouse which much more screams spring and summer.  So, do you think its wierd to do the fall colors with this atmosphere? I am certainly not opposed to peaches, creams, and roses (love those colors so much and theme is vintage/victorian), but those aren't really seasonally approproiate colors for fall, but would look great with venue. So, go with colors that match season but no so much with venue, or colors that I love even more, and go with venue, but don't match season? Help please!

Re: Fall wedding antique garden/schoolhouse HELP!

  • There are no rules regarding color and season.  NONE.

My wedding is in Sept and I'm using brown and ivory with herbed colors.  (lavender, sage)

    IMO, do what you want.

Just because you saw it on Four Weddings, doesn't mean it's a good idea.

  • I think you will be happier with photos and things if everything blends, so I see the benefit it decorating with the venue in mind.
