reception places

My fiance and I are looking for a place for our reception. We would like to use our own caterer and are on a limited budget. Does anyone have any ideas for inexpensive reception halls in the York, pa area?

I am not sure which of these places allow you to bring in your own caterer, but I looked at:
-Royal Manchester Golf Links (booked mine here)
    - Heritage Hills Golf Resort
    - Valencia Ballroom (Altland House Caters this)
-Also, the Altland House caters Ski Roundtop and the York Fairgrounds, and some more a little father out of York
    - Outdoor Country Club
    - Lauxmont Farms (Will NOT fit in your budget)

We LOVED Stone Mill Inn, but our guest list is much larger than yours, and we didn't think we cuold fit comfortably

Most of the places that I looked, I still have paperwork on some of them, so if you like any of them, let me know and I might have info I can e-mail you!

    Good luck!!

We are having our reception at Perfect Settings which is located in Columbia-right outside of York. It is the "perfect" place for a wedding with a guest list of your size. Daisy (the owner) is amazing to work with-she has been so helpful!! If you would like any other information just let me know!!

Heritage Hill will NOT let you cater your own. And I do not suggest Lauxmont - I live right down the road and have not heard of many people being happy after doing business with them.

Cool Creek Country Club in Wrightsville will let you bring in whoever you want. You can also have alcohol but they do not allow you to do shots.

You could look into Weishaven Banquet hall on East Prospect Road between Yorkana and York. I have no idea how much they charge but they do have two different size rooms.

There are also some nice fire halls in the area. The two that come to mind are Canadochly Valley Ambulance Club in East Prospect and Columbia Fire Co. Station 8-1 (I do NOT suggest station 8-4 or 8-7 just because they aren't as new and pretty).

I second MB on Royal Manchester! It's beautiful and it was our second choice.

We went with Heritage Hills. They have rooms in the $5000 range, including your food.

My friend just had her wedding at the Outdoor Country Club and it gets pretty pricey there.

Lauxmont Farm- Avoid it like the plague. I've heard horrible things about the service people receive there and they are very expensive for what you get.

Stone Mill Inn-Your budget would probably work here, but you have to use one of their 3 caterers. You can bring your own alcohol though.

Perfect Settings- Very pretty place and Daisey is great! However, if you're planning on having more than 100 people, it will be a tight fit.

Ginger Babies Catering- They have a site right across the street from Wisehaven Banquet hall, but I can't remember the name of it. It wasn't what we were looking for and you have to use their catering, but their prices were fantastic! The coordinator was really helpful and kept suggesting ways they could help you save money.  You also bring your own alcohol here.

I would also ask if you have a caterer in mind or if you're planning on using friends/family members to make the food.  If you're planning on using friends/family members, keep in mind that most venues require you to use a licensed caterer and most also require they have liability insurance. Just something to think about! HTH!
