Venue Coordinator Frustration

Just need to vent.

I'm starting to get frustrated with the coordinator at our venue because she is taking forever to get back to me.  I sent her an email on the 16th and I still have not heard back from her, 2 and a half weeks later.  I sent her another email reminding her to reply to my last email and I am sure I won't get a response for another few days.  I know this because this is the third or fourth time this scenario has happened.  In the beginning, she was very responsive, but ever since the beginning of the year, it's been hard to get in touch with her.

I'm even more frustrated with her because she dropped the ball of our hotel room situation.  They have a room that has french doors to the veranda.  The veranda leads to the ceremony area, so it's very convenient to have that room when you are the bride.  My concern, which I explained to her on several occasions, was that the room may be too small and that I wanted to go in and see it before I confirmed on that particular room.  Everytime that I asked to go up there it was booked or she waited too long to get back to me that I couldn't go up there anymore.  When I finally made it up there, my concerns were correct and the room is too small.  Well, it was all a waste of time because they didn't even have any bigger rooms left, which she knew before I even went up there!  Why the hell wouldn't you tell me that before I wasted time and gas driving all the way up there?!?!?!

I really want to go off on her and I almost did in this mornings email, but I held it back because I have to work with her even until after our wedding to settle the final bill.  I just pray that God grants me the patience to deal with her flaky ass.

  • When people don't respond in a timely manner, it drives me crazy!  I would be extremely annoyed if I were you too.  Hopefully she gets her act together very soon!

  • I feel you.  Granted it doesn't take her 2 wks to respond, I feel like it takes ours 3 days to give the simplest responses to my questions (which of course leads to more questions!).  Of course, I tried not to worry to much before because I figured she is busy with the weddings coming up and she is probably busy coordinating a wedding most every weekend.  My plan from here on out is to try to only call her.  Then I can elaborate with what my questions/concerns are and hopefully get a more immediate response.  With less than 3 months, I would be concerned if she isn't giving you a little more attention though.  Good luck!

  • I am going through the EXACT same thing with my venue coordinator.  It takes her a minimum of an entire week to get back to me, and usually she doesn't even have the answer to my question yet.  To set up our tasting, I had to email her for 3 weeks and we finally just scheduled it this week.   The communication has been lacking, but I read reviews of my venue on weddingwire that say the day-of is fantastic, all the employees knew exactly what to do and what was happening, but just the pre-communication was lacking. 
    Hopefully this is just the case with yours as well and our weddings will be awesome!
