Offbeat Wedding

My fiance and I have come up with an idea that I am soo thrilled about and just had to share. So we live in houston and on jan 4 on 2013 we are goin to get married at the williams water wall right close to the galleria then our reception is gonna be at this restaurant right down the street, We are only inviting our close family and friends which makes the guest list a whopping 25. AND it is gonna be a surprise for everyone except our mothers. I am sooo excited for this informal but definately us wedding. What do you guys think?

sounds lovely. I think a surprise wedding would be fantastic! There's no way I could keep my mouth shut so that idea is out for me, but yay for you.

I think it sounds fun, but be careful about the surprise thing. That has backfired on some brides. People think its just a gathering and don't attend or show up late and you may miss out on having someone important witness your ceremony.

I agree, the surprise thing can either come off really well or totally fall apart in execution.
If you invited me to a wedding, I would agree to be there, clear the day, be earlier/ontime and would be MUCH less likely to cancel.
If you invited me to hang out I would be more likely to move it around/reschedule/etc if something came up.

Thanks for your comments ... we are currently tryin to figure out how to get everyone there and make it seem important enough to be on time...
