Since we moved our wedding up we knew that the place that our 1st choice for our rehearsal dinner at would likely be booked. My FMIL called last night and they are indeed booked.
We had a second choice in mind, but it's really "out there"; we have a favorite Ethiopian place and we're friends with the staff/owners. We think if we had the dinner there, they would make it really special for us and it would be something to really remember.
Two problems:
My FMIL no doubt had something a little more elegant in mind and she's not too enthusiastic about having it there.
Secondly, not everybody would like the food. We were considering asking if they would simply let us rent the whole place, then do a buffet of Ethiopian food and let us also bring in a couple catered dishes to please our less adventurous guests.
So, how can we (my FI really, really wants to have it there) convince her that it would be a fun place to have the dinner?
And has anybody ever rented out a restaurant and had a mixture of the restaurant’s food as well as brought in different food?
