Are we getting ripped off with our fitting ladies??

Is everyone feeling they got ripped off like me. Should my fitting and bustle cost me $436 thats with tax.Is that  normal? I have to say I do love my bustle though. I was expecting maybe $200 but geeeshhh really. Its like I bought another dress.

I decided to use my mom's dress after not finding one I liked better. So far in alterations, it has been $930 and I am using mom's bustle! I go for my final fitting on September 20th... hopefully we won't see any additional costs!

Alterations are notoriously expensive. I think that is why so many of us are using Daisy.

Yes, that is normal at a bridal shop. My shop (in OH) charges $150 just for a hem. By the time I added a bustle and alterations, it would've been major $$. I would look for an independent seamstress (like Daisy). I found one here in OH and she's charging $200 for alterations, bustle, and hem (and I'm the height of a small child so she had to lop off a good 10 inches LOL).

I am paying $180 to get a hem bustle and top of my dress Fixed (made into more of a sweetheart neckline and pulled closer to me.)

I have used Myong Henderson (here in Brandon) for many many years and she has always been wonderful.

I'm so glad that alterations are included in my wedding gown. That was a big selling point for me plus I loved the dress. I know that alterations can be very expensive. I agree with the other ladies here that it is typically better to use an independent seamstress for alterations because they overcharge.

Speaking of alterations... Who would you reccommend for alterations (obviously Daisy) but are there any others? And how can I contact them??  :)  I'll need to have my dress altered.

I just went to my first fitting with Daisy on Saturday and she was WONDERFUL!  I know lots of girls have said that, but she really put my mind at ease!

I only need bra cups added and bustle added for a grand total of.....<drumroll please />

    $88!  Praise the Lord!

I'm getting it hemmed (3 layers) a french bustle, the bust taken in, and cups sewn into my corset for $200.  I know it would have been over twice that if I had my alterations down at Demetrios.
