Gluten Free - need suggestions for Bakery/Catering

Hi, this is my first post on this board, I'm recently engaged and planning a DW in Jamaica May 6th, 2011. My FI and I are doing an AHR in June 2011 at the FIL's house in Freehold (we live in Eatontown). Need help/suggestions on Gluten Free Bakeries for cake and/or cupcakes as well as caterers if anyone knows of any.

I have researched some online, doesn't seem like there are a ton of options, but if you know about GF it's all about taste so if anyone has actually TRIED a good GF wedding cake or cupcakes and can recommend a local placec, that would be AWESOME! I'd def be willing to travel for it too if it's good! Thanks Smile

Most caterers should be able to do GFree. My caterer (Sterling Affair) did one of our entrees GFree for my sister (MOH) and one of our bridesmaids.

There is a GFree bakery in Fair Lawn NJ but I have not tried it yet. Its on Fair Lawn Ave but it might be worth a look. Also you might have some luck checking arround NYC as they probably have a broader range of options.

Who is GFree? is it you or FI? Or is it a lot of your guests? If its just one or two of you maybe you could use your favorite cupcake recipie for those ppl and a regular recipie for the rest of the guests.

Thanks Laurms15! I will def check out the place in Fair Lawn! I'm GF as are some of my friends and family- so there's about 10 of us that need GF stuff. I also thought about doing the cake regular and adding GF cupcakes but the ones I make at home aren't as good and I've heard some bakeries do really great ones so I want to see where to go for that. The caterer I'm not as worried about but just wanted to see what others' experiences were- glad your caterer was able to work something out for your GF guests!

Also, congrats on your wedding, your pics are absolutely beautiful!
