Any of you guys watch Modern Family?

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-31749_162-57360901-10391698/modern-family-apparent-f-bomb-drop-causes-a-stir/

CN - in this week's episode, a toddler uses the F-bomb (she actually says "fudge" on camera and it's bleeped out, so it appears she uses the real word), and whackadoodle people are asking ABC to pull the episode.  One such group, the "No Cussing Club" (WTF?!).

So, thoughts?

Also - any funny swearing kids stories?

This caught my eye because my first F-bomb was caught on tape.  I was two years old and my grandma from Cali was visiting and was taping me.  She asked me about the tootsie roll she bought me at the market earlier that day and I replied, "No, it's not a tootsie roll it's a fucking tootsie roll."  I die every time I watch it.

I just saw that article and I think it's crazy that they are trying to get the show pulled.

That stuff happens...kids say cuss words.  Get over it people!
  • That show is so funny, I love Cam.

I didn't get this issue either.  I think most parents remember the child's first swearing incident.  I picked up a knick knack of my dads and yelled "what the hell is this?" I was three, and a few talks ensued.  I swear people are getting more easily offended as time goes by, several years ago there was a friends episode in which Ross' son overhears Rachel and starts yelling "D*MN IT! D*MN IT!" He actually says the word, and I don't remember any issue.
  • This is so fucking stupid. Kids swear all the time. CENSORSHIP IS BALLS. FUCKERS.

I hate to pull the "words only have the power you give them" card, but some people need to lighten up. The show is going to bleep it and cover her mouth, and the girl said "fudge" during filming. Kids cuss. It happens. And usually it's pretty fucking funny when they do.

I'm pretty anti-censorship from working at a bookstore. I love seeing people walk in to our suburban store and ask for a manager and get a guy with long hair and tattoos covering his arms and hands. Talking about "clutching their pearls".

  • I cannot imagine getting this upset over a toddler "fake cursing". Cursing toddlers are funny and these people need something better to do with their time.

I watch it and love it. I'll never understand people who complain about small things like these.i think shows we're "worse" when I was a kid and I turned out fine!

[QUOTE]My CW's 5 year old daughter got a couple zhu zhu pets for Christmas last year and my CW overheard her on the floor playing with them saying <strong>"Come here little fuckers!"</strong> motioning them toward her. She had to leave the room to laugh before telling her its a bad word.

    This. Was so funny.
  • I liked the episode - I was more excited by her fower girl dress and the bow tie worn by the groom - can I have those at my wedding??
  • Toddlers curse, and when they do adults laugh. The show was not racy, it was just factually accurate lol

  • I watched this episode with my sister, who is also engaged to be married, and we cracked up! If my flower girl or ring bearer did a slip at my wedding we would all laugh too. Kids repeat everything they hear, they don't realize what they are saying. It's funny people... lighten up.

  • My FFIL told me about my fiance when he was little. He couldn't say his TR sound, and it came out as the F sound instead. Well he also loved firetrucks, and one time when a firetruck went by, he started yelling "FIREFUCK, FIREFUCK!!" His dad kept a straight face and told the old lady nearby, "He has tourettes."  hahaha funniest kid story ever of my fiance :)

</div><div>Hilarious - we have a friend whose son loves yelling Firefuck too!!!  Maybe that's not as uncommon as we thought!!?   We even toyed with getting him a "Firefuck" helmet but decided that might be just a little over the line  ;P</div>

The whole premise of the show is how families are not perfect!
I can't believe they are trying to do that, let hope it doesn't get pulled!

  • Funny swear stories...

I work with kids in kindergarten and this one boy can't say the word Clock. In fact he has trouble with a lot of blends...

So we were reading a book about the clock and how it tells us the time because he would get sad when his mom would leave and would come up and ask me when is it home time.

So he really says Miss can we please play c*ck? I better play c*ck with mommy so I know what time she's coming...

I had to hide my face when he said that...

    Kids...
