wedding dress on a budget- help!

I will be embarking on the journey of finding a wedding dress in a few weeks and I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions of places I can go to find a dress under $700 in NY or NJ. I would hate to pay (well my dad is paying) more than that for a dress that I will only wear once. I want a pretty trumpet gown maybe laced on the back. I am open to any and all suggestions, even David's Bridal, but I want to know the exact stores because I know some people have had really bad experiences in some of these stores.

    I recommend RK bridal, it is on 39th b/w 8th and 9th. I got my dress there it was under $700, and it was very pretty and comfortable. I didn't like working with the alterations department though, so I would say get your dress there and have it altered somewhere else. But they have huge, huge selections in different price ranges and the dresses are good quality. My sales person was Olga, she was great to work with.

    I would suggest going to an Asian bridal shop in Flushing. You can order the dresses brand new from catalogs like MoriLee and then rent it or buy it. The prices are much more reasonable.

    Also try the Bridal Garden (bridalgarden.org)-- I got my dress there and it's not for everybody, but they definitely have some great deals and you can negotiate on the price if you find something you like.

    There is a shop in Chinatown that has Mori Lee dresses.  It's on the corner of Grand and Bowery, 2nd floor.  If you take the BDFV train and get off on Grand Street, you're a block away. You can see dresses/pictures from the windows on the street.
