David's bridal alterations?

Has anyone gotten alterations from david's bridal? that's where I purchased my dress. Not sure if its better to go to them or an outside person for alterations. Does anyone have any idea of the pricing for both options?

I used to work there and the pricing depends on how much detail there is on your dress, and how much you need to have done hem, bustle, taken in ect. It can get pretty pricey. also if you get alterations done from someone besides david's they won't touch your dress after that. So be sure that the outside person know's what they're doing. Do your research. I hope that was some help! good luck!

i got my dress from Davids and was a little nervous about having them do it...sure it's their dress but I didn't want it messed up. Plus, I had a some flower embellishments I wanted attached to the dress and David's wouldn't do it. So I went to Perfect Alterations on Bethel (per the recommendation of another Bridal store) and she did an amazing job! My skirt is really full with a lot of pleats and so it was really expensive, plus 3 bustles were neccesarty to hold up the skirt, and it was taken in on some places so total was $375. She told me horror stories of David's messing up a bride's dress with a week to go till the wedding and she redid everything! Can you imagine?

I just had my alterations on my dress there. My dress fit perfect in size and length but I did need alterations for my bustle. It cost me $35 which I didnt think was bad at all because I actually expected to pay more.

I had my dress let out in the bust, a princess dart, and a bustle and it was about 250. They did a great job on letting out the bust, I havent seen the bustle yet. I used them so I could find a veil while I was there (which is kind of stupid) and because I figured they knew about the dress and the designer (Oleg Cassini). My dress has a ton of detail and lace so that factors into the price
