Trying to find a DJ

I"m trying to find a DJ. I wanted to use Alec from Jimmy Dee's but he was booked. Has anyone heard anything about the other DJ's at Jimmy Dee's? Pattsy and James are avaliable for my date.

Don't know about Jimmy Dees but we had Tom Destry Entertainment for our wedding.. We had Tom personally. This guy was fantastic . All the guests didn't want the wedding to end. Dance floor was packed all night with his showmanship excellence. This guy breathes music. He has a fully blown recording studio on site and has a new CD written by him of new wedding songs. The best part we got all ad-ons with this package entirely for under $1000. Anthonys Pier 9 recommended him to us.
We also considered DJ Victor Vargas. Smooth, not pricy, very nice to deal with. We were extremely satisified with our selection.....

Not sure about other Jimmy Dee DJs however, they were my 2nd choice.  My 1st was The DJ Company, www.thedjco.net. They were very similar and actually a little more affordable.

We have a similar story, i wanted to book Alex from Jimmy Dee too, he did my sister's wedding and was awesome! I ran into him at 2 bridal shows, he gave me his card and told me once i settled on a date to email him so he could put me down in his book. I did a couple weeks later (we were going back and forth b/t the first and second weekend in Oct 2012) and he was booked by a repeat client with someone already on a wating list incase anything fell through. It sucked, but he did recommend to me Richie or Vinny. FI and I were just there Monday, we met with Vinny and booked with him, he was very easy to work with and personable. HTH!

I just booked Tom Destry for my October 2011 wedding, located in Wallkill NY.  He was the DJ at my cousins wedding and we had a ball.  If your looking for a hands on type of entertainer with giveaways, hes great.  He does dances where his assistants gives sunglasses, hawaiian leis, etc.  He also owns a recording studio where he can use the beat of a favorite song and customize the words to have you and your fiancees name in it then put on his shades and performs the song in the middle of the dance floor for you.  If you schedule a counsultation with him he will play a video of a past wedding he has done to see first hand what he does..

FYI..his wife is a travel agent and will give a discount if you book your honeymoon with her too..

We knew we wanted him no matter what the cost but we were pleasantly surprised he was under $1000 for 5+ hours...

IJimmy Dee actually quoted me a higher rate than Top Notch DJ in New Rochelle, NY and I found Top Notch to be better! They have packages as inexpensive as $1000 up to $2500+. It all depends on what you're looking for and how fancy you want it. They're great! I definitely recommend them.

I booked with Richie at Jimmy Dee. I'm an out of town bride (actually out of country! im in canada) and interviewed DJ's like a mad woman over a 2 day period. Jimmy Dees was the only one that gave me the full confidence I need. They are very flexable with their packages, and being a radio dj myself, the only company I could ever pick to handle my craziness and absenteeism. I'm super excited to have Richie perform at my wedding!

Thanks for the advice. I'm an out of town bride too and it is difficult to make appointments to vist a bunch of DJ"s. Thats why I was trying to go with the one that my sister had. Its funny how you said you felt comfortable with the company because my brother inlaw worked as a marketing director for a radio station and new tons of DJ's and still felt most comfortable with Jimmy Dee's. I have an appointment with them and a few others this week so we'll see how it goes.
