Mother-Son Dance if FH's mom has passed?

So I've seen a post about what to do if the bride's father has passed away and they still wanted to remember him at the reception...

But what I was wondering was, if FH's mother passed away a few years ago and he doesn't want to feel left out b/c I'm doing a Father/Daughter dance, would it be ok if he did the dance with his sister to one of their Mom's favorite songs?

Re: Mother-Son Dance if FH's mom has passed?

  • One of my cousin's got married last weekend.  Her husband's mom passed away a couple of years ago.  He did a mother/son dance with the bride's mom.  I thought it was very nice.

He could definitely do a dance with his sister.  Have you asked him what his opinion is?  He might want to skip the dance altogether, and that's fine.

  • Yes, the dance with his sister would be very nice.
  • It's funny because he was the one who suggested it, so it's something he wants to do, I've just never been to a wedding that had to do anything different from a father-daughter, mother-son dance so I was just checking. Thanks for the feedback =)
  • I think dancing with his sister sounds lovely.
