Last night my FI and I had our first formal-ish meeting with our priest, who is going to marry us. I say formalish cause my fiance knows the priest on a semi social level outside of the church because he is the priest for his University. Last night confirmed for me, if there was any doubt on why we are having him marry us. He takes the process very seriously, meaning he makes sure that we are committed to what we are doing, he had us take the FOCUS test last night and then we will met with him to go over the results. He is also making sure we have all our paperwork done sooner than later, we aren't getting married til October of next year, but he wants to have the entire packet all organized and ready to go in the next few weeks, so we just have to go through pre cana and that stuff in March.
I'm especially grateful that he is marrying us and not the priest who overseas the actual church we are getting married in. He was beyond relaxed with everything, and didn't want us to get him our baptismal certificates too early in case they get lost. Still not sure how I feel about that though of something getting lost.
