Hot/Buffalo Sauce

Happy Friday!

I was thinking of trying this Pinterest find for dinner. Anyone have reccommendations on sauce to use? H loves spicy things, and I like buffalo flavor but not the heat. I thought maybe I could put a milder sauce in the dish, and have something hotter for him to add if he'd like.

Thoughts?

[QUOTE]Have you checked Buffalo Wild Wings for their sauces? They have a TON of options.

I use their sauces for everything. The hot BBQ is our favorite

  • I really like their mild sauce, but the closest one is about 70 miles away :(

Our options are Food City, Walmart, and SuperBeer.

  • I always go with Frank's Red Hot sauce.

[QUOTE]I can't believe that they aren't retailing from their website. That seems dumb. Walmart is the devil.

Fo sho! I was in line for 20 minutes behind some pregnant lady deciding what kind of cigarettes to buy, since they didn't have her regular brand.

Our Food City just had renovations done and it is sweet, but SuperBeer is on the way home from work, so they get a lot of my "crap I plan to make X but don't have any Y" buisness.

  • i made gumbo that's pretty good, you can make it as hot as you'd like, and make his hotter with an extra shake of red pepper

you can find a good recipe pretty much anywhere, and i actually use spicy italian sausage instead of andouille sausage (which isn't as spicy). so yummy. also use brown rice to make it a bit healthier.
  • My FI and I looooove buffalo wings and we always make our own sauce.. kinda. We heat up popcorn popping oil and add franks red hot. We eyeball it.. just add more or less oil depending on your spicy preference. This is really thin though, so we had corn starch to thinken it up. It's GREAT on wings. Our perfect sauce.

  • Have you tried Anchor Bar hot wing sauce yet? They're the original buffalo wing joint in Buffalo NY. It has just enough buffalo flavor but is still hot.

Ditto for Franks. Hooters also sells a bottled sauce that's really good too!

ETA: My podunk Walmart carries the Hooters sauce, so you may be able to find it too.
