Photographer Stress

I am so frustrated in my attempts to find the *perfect* photographer for my wedding!  FI wants someone who really does specialize in photojournalism (so many say they do, but then they have a portfolio of posed photos).  I want crisp, vivid pictures.  SixFourteen Photography is exactly what I want, but he's not available on that day.  I've looked at all of the recommendations listed on the most recent photography thread, and I can't find someone who fits what I want and is within my budget ($1,500).   HELP!!!  I only need 1 photographer (I have a friend who will be taking photos as well).  Any ideas that weren't mentioned on the "GOOD photographers" thread?

    PS--I see you are from OKC? If you are planning a wedding from there, you should check out Candi Coffman Photography. She is simply amazing and does travel to Dallas. And she has the style you are looking for.

    Check out my photographer, K & S Photography. They amazing and I think they will fit your budget.  Their website is www.kandsphoto.net They were so great to work with and my pictures turned out wonderful.

    Erindworley - since your wedding is during the week photographers might offer a discount.  That might help you too.

    I agree with ewinkler.  Contact the photographers you like from the "good photographer's thread.  Many of them may fall within your budget since your wedding is on Thursday.  It doesn't hurt to ask!

    Chelsea McGowan starts at $1500 for a Friday wedding, I'd ask her about Thursdays. That doesn't include prints though but I plan on getting them afterwards after we pay off bills. She gives you a CD with a copyright release so that you can get prints on your own without a photographers markup. And I picked her for her colorful, vivid photos! She's pretty awesome, too!

    Thank you for this thread! I just went to Jessica Mooney and saw a set of sisters that I used to work with years ago that got married about a year apart.. small world!!

    Once I saw someone who I went to high school with (eleven years ago) in a wedding photography ad... wow

    Here are some that might be in your budget. Sometime Craigslist is really helpful and has reasonable photographers. Good Luck!

    We really like Charlie McRae and will probably use him.  He is a photography senior at UNT so he's relatively inexpensive compared to "professional" photographers and has a really good eye. I know people want experienced photographers but he's done several weddings, if you are really on a budget. I think you get him plus an assistant for $1200. www.charliemcrae.com.

    I saw your bridal portrait and love it, that is why i contracted them.  but they want to charge $850 for bridal and engagement session.  Is that what you pay for?

    My bridals and engagements were included in my wedding package.  I'm not sure what they charge just to do bridals and engagements.

    I can't imagine that is what they would charge to just come out and take the pictures.  Did it include any prints and/or cd?  Hmm if not, then I'm not sure.
