I'm worn out already from planning.....

I feel so tired and stressed. I want Southern Oaks Plantation. I was told yea my parents will do it, then told well lets find more options, but none measure up to that to me. I was looking into City Park, but when I went to visit on just a normal Saturday the park was full of people and they had 4 weddings going on, and it turned me off. 

I am looking into The Balcony and Champagne Palace as options as well, but I am so up in the air, and I want to set a date before all the places are booked up. Anybody had a ceremony and reception at The Balcony or Champagne Palace? My guest list is 150, were they expensive?

    My vote is for Southern Oaks! I know that doesn't help much, but we were the same when we started looking. We knew we wanted Southern Oaks and after much discussion we just went ahead and booked them. They do provide everything except the cake, it is beautiful and the food is great! Every time I tell someone where we are having our reception I get the same responses, "I LOVE Southern Oaks, they have the best food, etc."

    So I definitely think they are worth the price you pay for them. And I'm not sure if you know, but they now have a photo booth as an extra! Good Luck!

    Im going through the same thing. I want SOP sooooo bad, but parents are wanting to wait and discuss. We dont have time to wait because they book really fast!!!

    They only have 1 Friday left in May and June and my FI is not helping me!! Men OMG!!! He thinks wanting a beautiful wedding is being materialistic! I'm a girl I can't help but want something wonderful and most wonderful things aren't cheap!! I'm willing to pay the ceremony costs and the Horse and carriage to help out so my father won't have to foot all the costs, but it's tough because my fiance's family aren't helping at all. 

    I am fighting for SOP though, nothing else matches up!!!

    Are you and your FH helping pay?  If you want it that badly, then find a way to pay for it.  Josh, my FH, and I looked at Southern Oaks, and we liked it a lot, but in the end, we didn't like how it was chopped up into tiny rooms and no buffet.  We wound up finding another place that fits everything we want.  But even if, we're the ones paying for our wedding.  My parents have offered to help if we need it, but we're the ones who set the date (we're both young, 23, and in grad school) and decided to get married now.  If you want something that bad, then find a way to help bear the brunt of the costs and let your families pitch in what they can.  They might be more willing to help/agree to Southern Oaks, if they know they're not responsible for paying for it all.
