I give up

I have spent the last  week or so googling for HOURS trying to find just the right make up and hair look.  I thought I had it, then I decided that due to the heat in Vegas, I'd want my hair up.  As far as make-up, I want something dramatic, glam yet still classic Old Hollywood.  For my hair, I am not wearing a veil.  However, I have very fine and thin blonde hair that hits just between my shoulder blades.  I will be adding clip on extenstions.  We don't have an over all "theme" for our wedding, but if we did, it would be gangster or mobster theme.  Any suggestions?

  • maybe try looking up 1950's pin up models... you might find some scandalous pictures, but the idea is to look at the hair. Also, maybe large rollers, but have them put it randomly to avoid lines and don't comb them out just let them fall to create soft curls and volume and then loosely pin them up braid and pin any peices that fall out or maybe tease the front for some hieght or add a bright red flower or something, I used to do hair and that sort of soft pinned curl was always a good choice for humidity. Good Luck!

Pp's site sounds like a good place to start. You could google pictures of Jean Harlow and other stars from the 30's. 40's and beyond or even just type in a search for "makeup fromt he 1930's" etc...

  • The BerlinHairBaby has some awesome hairstyles, and the lady has step by step videos on how to do them. My friend Kammy found the site and learned to do a different hairstyle every day. It's pretty awesome and my less than adept hands were able to do some of them.
