  2. Ages (met/married): I was 21 a John was 26 when we met. I am now 22 and he is almost 28
  3. Do you like FI's last name? Are you "taking" it? I love his last name! I think it sounds great with my first name.  I will be taking his last name but I am kinda sad about losing my maiden name.
  4. Where were you born (city/state)? Clay Center, Kansas
  5. Where do you live currently? (city and/or state)? Overland Park, Kansas
  6. Where did you go to college? I just graduated from Emporia State University this past May.
  7. Do you root for any college/professional teams? I love my Jayhawks and will get behind K-State usually. Don't hate me, MIZZOU fans. I like watching pro football but I don't have a favorite team.
  8. What was your major? Sociology
  9. What is your current job? Grr...I'm currently on the job hunt.  Right now I work part time as a student advisor for a tutoring company.
  10. What is your dream job? Case Worker and/or Therapist for sexual assault and domestic violence survivors.
  11. How did you and your fiance meet? We met randomly one day at Oklahoma Joe's BBQ. They are catering our wedding
  12. When did you get engaged and how did he do it?? We got engaged in December 2009 and he did it by calling me in a panic about an issue with his apartment so I rushed right over (with my puppy in tow) and when I walked in there were candles everywhere, he was on one knee (the puppy rushed over and sat on his lap) and he proposed!
  13. When is the Wedding Day? Is there a special reason for this date? We are getting married May 28, 2011.  It is Memorial Day weekend and seeing as we have a lot of OOT guests we thought it might be easier for them to come that weekend!
  14. Where is the ceremony and reception? Ceremony is at Bloch Cancer Survivors' Park on the very west side of the Plaza and the reception is at the Arts Incubator downtown.
  15. What are your wedding colors? Coral, peach, light yellow, celedon, and champagne.
  16. Where are you honeymooning? TBD, we are saving up right now.  If we don't have enough by the time the wedding rolls around we will probably just do a couple's getaway for a few days somewhere close by. We would really like to go to Hawaii
   17. Favorite wedding vendor so far? Ashlee at the Arts Incubator has been great. She is straightforward and easy to get a hold of.  I haven't worked with many vendors though because we are doing a lot of DIY.
  18. Biggest wedding splurge? I don't know if we have 'splurged' on anything per say but our biggest expense has been and will be the reception venue.
  19. What is something you wish you could have at the wedding but don't?  Biggest thing we both want but probably won't have is a traditional honeymoon.  However, at the wedding I would like to be able to host a full open bar but it looks like we will be doing beer, wine, and signature cocktails.
  20. Is there another knottie's wedding you'd like to attend? Yes, like all of them, however I can't remember specific handles right now.
  21. Favorite book? The Cider House Rules

  23. Favorite tv show? I can't pick just one, Curb your Enthusiasm, Dexter, So you Think you can Dance?
  24. Favorite wedding dress designer? I love Vera Wang
  25. Any advice you can give? Seems I am the one usually looking for advice...:)
  26. Anything you wish you could change about your wedding?  Not really, somedays I wish we had more funds but then realize that if we were spending more money I would feel bad about it and I should be grateful we are fortunate to have what we have and that everything will be perfect.
  27. Share something about yourself!! My favorite food is cake. I love basically any cake and would never eat regular food if it were healthy to do so.  Aside from marrying the man I love one of the things I am most excited for is wedding cake!

  i love that OK Joes is catering ur wedding!  I wanted to have the smokehouse cater are RD, but FI just doesn't get it.  He is from NC and has a different type of BBQ.

  We almost had Jack Stack cater our wedding, so I obviously love the BBQ idea!! And I'll be excited to see pics from the Arts Incubator!

  Thanks everyone!  And we are super excited about Oklahoma Joe's! We can't think of a single guest that wouldn't enjoy it (except our veggie friends, but they will get a yummy vegetarian meal!)
