How do I Invite out of town guests..HELP!

Ok, So my fiance and I are from NY and relocated to FL about 1 year ago, weve been engaged over 2 years.  We have finally decided to have the wedding down here in FL, besides his parents, one out of 4 of his sisters and some friends..........everyone else will be from out of town.  I have found a location I like but havent booked anything yet.  How do I go about finding out who will be coming down south for our wedding. ?  I know it sounds simple but do I just send out an RSVP? and then another invite with the location etc to follow? any ideas or suggestions would be great !
Thank You !!

I had the same problem. Our familes are from WI and MI and we are getting married here. I just let my family members know as soon as we made the decision. Also we booked the venue and date over a year out so I figured that would give everyone time to budget. Those who really want to be there for your wedding will be there. Im still dealing with family members who say we should get married up north but our lives are here and we are paying for it. Good luck!

For my guests I sent out Save the Date magnets. They are totally cute. Then just email or call to "make sure" they got them. Most people will tell you at that time if they are coming or not. However, you do still have to send them an invitation. I put a link to the place I got my save the dates from. Good luck!

Basically Save The Dates are the thing that work...
or if you need an estimated amount for budget concerns I would just ask people. I know it sounds weird but thats what FI and I did. We knew certain people were going to come others that we werent so sure of we just asked.

i had a destination wedding and so many people said they would come, however only half did. it seemed like some people would change their mind every day for a year! we planned for 100% attendance and when we knew only half were coming we adjusted our budget and splurged a little more on the honeymoon.

so that's what you do, plan the wedding you can afford based on everyone showing up and do something fun with the savings if/when some people RSVP "no."
