Caterers in Racine, WI Area

Hello,

I am looking to book a caterer for a family style dinner in Racine, WI.  Our reception site was able to give us some recommended caterers, however I am interested in getting some actual "consumer reviews" from anyone out there.

We are inviting 200 guests and would prefer family style, but will settle for buffet.  Both options are preferred by my FI and myself and in our budget.  I've researched various vendors and now am interested in any positive or negative experiences from fellow knotties.

I've checked the vendor reviews, but there are not many vendors from the Racine area present.

Thanks!

  • We are using Infusinos for family style, they have a banquet hall and they also cater out.  They are doing our wedding in Milwaukee.  We went to a tasting there and it was pretty awesome, they have more then one family style type package.  The one we're doing is $14.95 a person, plus fees for plate and linen rentals.  One of the best prices for the food that we have found!  Good luck with your planning!

  • This was from my review post:

(A+) All Occasion's Catering (aka Bubb's Big Style Barbecue) (Big Bend) DH & I attended a wedding where we had the pleasure of trying out this company's food. We were so impressed, that we made an appointment with them right away. The owner, "Mark" was so nice. He answered all our questions (even my redundant ones) and was very kind to let us extend the buffet service. (We wanted to make sure that the food would be out long enough for people to grab seconds.) The staff was very prompt, professional, and invisible when they needed to be (like during the ceremony.) Mark really works with you. He let me pick and choose a lot from different menus- so we kind of made our own. They are very reasonable! Our main dish was the German Pig Roast (they roast it on site!) And even though the corn on the cob wasn't in season, it was still good.

  • I'm having my reception at Infusino's, I'm getting their family style dinner for $14.95 a person as well.

  • Infusino's is a good option. I saw a really cool, modern caterer at the bridal show last year - Hill's Kitchen out of Kenosha. I only tried their samples, but they were really fun!
  • Gooseberries also travels to Racine. They are out of Burlington but they do go to Racine. Chef Mike is very easy going and nice. I've emailed them so many times in the past few months and they have answered every question I have had. I am scheduling a tasting with them one of these days in the coming months. But from every review I have heard of them has been great.

  • Thanks all for the feedback!

Starryangel - if we both go with Gooseberries looks like we are schedule all of the same vendors :)  Good luck and please let me know what you find out!
  • Did you go with Masonic Center as well? That is awesome! I knew I wanted to go with Gooseberries right away so I kind of planned the reception hall around them lol.
