meet and greet vs farewell

we dont know what to do!!! We want to rent a double decker bus to take us on a tour of the city but we dont know if we should do it the night before the wedding or the night after. the concerns are if we do it the night before, not everyone will be in town yet, they might be tired from jet lag, might not be on time, etc. but if we do it AFTER, we are worried people will have already left town, and we dont want to spend $400+ on a bus that only 7 people will ride on, ya know? Plus we leave for the honeymoon the night after (1am) and i HATE rushing around to get where i need to go. what if the bus runs late, we cant miss our flight!

Re: meet and greet vs farewell

  • I would do it before.  I think if you do it before you will give your guests a chance to meet it each other which makes for a better time at the wedding.  Plus you sure dont want to risk the flight girl....That would be a disaster.  I would kust put it out there that you are having this meet and greet. People that are in town to celebrate will want to celebrate with you.  Especially if you add a little drinkey drink to the mix.  but after the wedding is bad because there are too many what ifs....just my two cents

  • i agree, id be freaking out!! plus itll be a good chance to give people their welcome bags. and we can take alcohol on the bus!!! what would be a good time to start the tour.i was thinking 8pm, but that might be too early for the people who flew out later in the day.

Also, should i put the bus info in the invitation or just on the website and word of mouth? the invites are already made so we would only be able to drop some bus info in the envelope which will throw off the whole look
  • I would say but the information in with the invite because that is what people will most likely read but if it will throw off the look I would say word of mouth and website..(do you think people constantly check the website for updates?) if you do word of mouth make sure Everybody knows... You don't want some one saying I didn't know about the tour... Good luck a tour of the city sounds exciting!
