  • A-line, with a corset back.  I am absolutely an apple with a big middle (I made the post looking for everyday tops that is a couple down).  Okay look at this:

That's me.  I am a street 16, wedding dress 20.  It doesn't look like it!  I'm not wearing Spanx under because there is no way to get them up and down (the ones that cover belly up to the bra) due to the corset - and you don't need one with a corset.

Find a shop where the consultants care about you being happy - they will put you in shapes that fit you best.  Be open to their suggestions because I wasn't going to try this one on and I'm in love with it now.

  • I am an apple shape as well. I am wearing an A-LINE Im a street 18 and dress is a 22, I will only be wearing a longlined bra No spanxx I fell it will be too much and too warm and  My dress does not have a corset . How ever the boning helps alott!!! Like you I waited to go dress shopping and it wont be ready untill the friday before my Sunday wedding so dont wait too long. Remember their is a dress for everyone. Goodluck!!!

  • Oh and I AM wearing little thin nylon-like shorts underneath to prevent thigh rubbing/chafing, which I totally get.  But those I can pull on and off without unlacing the dress.

  • I'm an apple shape as well.  I felt like every A line dress made me look bigger, and the empires made me look pregnant.  I ended up going with a trumpet style with a nice corset built in.  It gives me a waist, shows off my curves, and doesn't add all the bulk of the other dresses.  Fit and Flares looked nice too.
