Reception Venues

I am going to be looking at reception venues very soon 5-6 of them.  Are there any questions you suggest that I ask to make sure I get all the information I need.

Also My Fiance lives out of state and wont be able to see the venues with me.  Are pictures generally allowed so he can see the venue before we decide?

    You can totally take pictures... My fiance wasnt able to go with me to pick out a venue so i took lots of pictures.

    I would ask about..

    What the minumum is?
    what linens and sashes and chair covers cost?
    if they charge for chairs and tables? (some places do)
    If they have a rental fee for the facility? (on top of the min)
    If they only allow certain vendors or can you pick any vendors? (like a caterer)
    If they charge for the dance floor?

    Thats all i can think of right now.

    Those are definitely very good questions to ask. Yeah, you can take pictures. I was in the same situation as you. My now husband was living out of state when we got engaged. Most of the reception venues I visited either had websites and/or I just sent him pictures. When I finally had it narrowed down to a few, he was able to come home and we booked it then.
