Guess it's time for an intro!

Hey ladies! I've been posting a little on this board lately, so I decided today would be a good day for an official intro!

I've been with my FI for 4 years now, long distance the whole time. As in, 13 hour drive kind of long distance. Yuck. I'm excited beyond words that he gets out of AD Marine Corps soon though! His plan is to move back home and join either the Air National Guard or Marine Reserves, he hasn't quite made up his mind which yet. We've been engaged for almost 18 months now, and currently don't have a wedding date set (again. ugh.). It'll happen later half of next year probably, but we decided to put off setting a date until FI gets out, gets home, and gets settled in with a job. It's a little bit of a bummer, but I think it's the smartest decision with the economy the way it is these days. Anything else y'all want to know, ask away. I like questions!  Smile

    Hey melbelle! Welcome! Sucks about long distance. The worst I deal with is an hr. drive to see FI. No big deal :) How did you too meet?

    We met and were friends in high school, but kind of lost touch after graduation... fast forward 2 years and we started talking on MySpace of all places, then he asked me out when he was home on leave one Thanksgiving. The distance does suck, but I think it's easier to make it work when that's what you're used to.

    belated welcome!

    That's a pretty crappy long distance.. I wouldn't even bother with that drive. I would just hop a plane over!

    FTL - haha, I have been here a long time, I just lurk a whole lot more than I post. Trying to get out of that habit now!

    The past couple years I do just fly out there. When I was still in college though, I would drive because it was like a 3 hour drive to a big enough airport to not cost an arm and a leg for a flight.

    Mel- I totally thought you'd been on here tooo!!  Didn't we talk about College Football? You're a Mississippi State fan correct?  And aren't you in Med School?  I could be totally off and thinking of someone else.. but on the offhand that I'm right I'm super impressed with my memory!!

    Sami, I'm impressed with your memory too! That was me!

    And on the subject of college football, you'll be happy to know that Alabama is my second-favorite team today. They're almost always in my top teams to cheer for, but since they're playing Ole Miss today... Roll Tide!!!

    Yay!!!  I'm wearing one of my many Alabama shirts as we type!! haha I'm pretty excited for the game, but I'm pretty sure it'll be similar to last weeks shut out.. Wink

    Oh yeah, I think it'll definitely be a shutout. I'm wearing one of my many Mississippi State shirts and hoping we can pull out a win against S. Carolina. I love SEC football!

    haha TN fan. H  Went to both UT and GT (He's from Chattanooga so right between the two colleges) so we root those two. I went to Univ. of Washington for a while so we also root Washington huskies.
    Right now I'm wearing a Tennessee hoodie though. :)

    Buuutttt I have to say Alabama is breakin ankles, arms and hearts all over the SEC. (I soooo want that on a tshirt!) 52-7!! and I loved every minute of it!! And the 6 pack that I enjoyed with my dad while we watched the game in our NEW LCD 55 inch flat screen internet & 3D capable tv!  Yesssssssss!!

    Thanks. That game bummed me out a little, but I had an awesome night to help make up for it! Bama is looking fierce this year, I'm scared for when my boys have to play them! Oh, and that tv? So totally jealous! It sounds aaaamazing!

    What are you studying in med school? I'm studying to be a doctor. I haven't decided on a specialty yet. What is your favorite color? teal!!! What is your favorite kind drink? Alcoholic - mai tai or any other fruity rum drinks... Or wine. I love wine. Nonalcoholic - diet coke Do you like tea? I like sweet tea... Well, actually these days I prefer iced half-sweet half-unsweet. I don't think I've ever tried hot tea before. Any other questions? :)

    You should be a gyno... I would totally come see you. I hate male gynos.Tongue out

    You could end up playing a still un-defeated Crimson Tide, or a freshly kicked by LSU, Tide.  At least, they are hosting LSU.  That could be helpful.  It's gonna be a nail biter, that's for sure!! 

    Mel, you have to stay around forever! I know you're all busy, ya know, becoming a doctor, but I enjoy your "company" very much.

    Aww, thanks Sami! I'm definitely going to try to stick around... sometimes school gets too crazy to have internet time though.

    Oh, and I'd much rather play a still undefeated Tide. LSU fans are generally just obnoxious.
