Wedding Woes

Travel talk

So, it's dead here. My friend and I have been throwing around the idea of using some vacation time at this time next year to go somewhere.

Domestic travel would be most realistic. So, where to go?

Vegas? For yummy eats and spa days (I don't gamble or care for the shows).

Pacific Northwest? Because it's pretty.

Hawaii? For the warm weather.

Where else? NYC? Miami? Ideas are welcome :)

cruise out of Galveston?  I know it's probably a 5 hour drive for you, but you'd spend just as long flying anywhere.

No cruises. Friend does not care for them.

go to Pittsburgh and meet Kuus. (in all seriousness, Pittsburgh is a fun place to visit - there's a lot to do/see.)

TX wine country? CA wine country?

    I've been to Montreal - it's a poor man's france.

I don't drink wine, so I don't know how much fun that would be.

    Pittsburgh, eh. Hmmmm.....

I would rather set myself on fire than go to Disney World. I have been to Disneyland enough times in my life. I'm glad I don't have kids who will want to go there one day.

Palm Springs is looking good for food, spas, hiking (she wants to, not me) and yay for gay bars and dancing.

I'd go to the Pacific Northwest.   That's definitely on my list of places to go.

I"ve never really been, mrs. conn, so that was looking good, as well as the east coast (maine, cape cod), but we want warm weather.

Warm weather? Come to Denver. We're having a 70-degree Thanksgiving this year.

Seattle or Portland this time of year blows. If you wanted to go in the summer, it would be ideal. But I'm biased as I'm from Seattle, and would encourage anyone to go there.

Honestly, if you want temperate weather I would recommend Phoenix. It's a high of 72 today. We have spas, hiking, shopping. You can drive to Palm Springs from here (it's about 4 hours) or LA. Drive 2 hours north and you're in Sedona which has gorgeous mountains. The towns of Jerome and Cottonwood have wineries, plus Jerome is a funky little place to spend a few hours. Go farther north and you're in Flagstaff and a good starting place for the Grand Canyon. You can stay in Flagstaff and check out the Lowell Observatory and if it's snowing...possibly go sledding or tubing.

Hawaii is awesome, but even from where I live it is a long flight. Plus it is expensive.

I'd love to return to Chicago or DC. It's been ages since I've been to either place and I love the museums in both cities.

It really depends on what you want to do.
