NWR: Earthquake in Chile.

I've been avoiding to talk about this since it happened, but I just watched the news (Peruvian channel), and I think it's time to toughen up a little and address it.

You're all aware of the earthquake in Chile, 8.8 in magnitude. If you've never experienced an earthquake, there really is no way of imagining in. Back in 2007, an earthquake struck Peru, and I happened to be vacationing with my family.

It wasn't as bad as the one that just shook Chile, but it's more than traumatizing to find yourself running down the street and through stalled traffic to find your family when the earth is shaking and the concrete looks like waves, running is difficult. It's something I don't like remembering and I would never wish this on anyone. I can't even imagine what the Chilean people went through.

One of my closest friends and bridesmaid is Chilean an was in Santiago when the earthquake happened. I only thank God her and her family are okay, and my prayers go with all the people that have lost dear ones in this disaster.

It just reminds us even more how lucky we are to be alive, and to cherish every single day.

I had it easy compared to people who lost everything. Hurricanes I can handle, earthquakes, it's absolute loss of control, horrible. Chile's our neighbour, so it literally hit close to home, you know?

    I'm just glad my friend's okay :)
