My dad hates my fiance :(

I don't know what to do. No matter how many ways he tries to prove himself- my parents refuse to accept my fiance. Anyone else going through a similar issue?

No. My parents like my H, mostly because he treats me well, is gainfully employed and converses with great ease.

We need to know why your parents don't like him. They might be unreasonable, but it's also possible that they see something you don't.

Why is he trying so hard? I wouldn't like somebody who sucked up to me, either.

I'm an adult. I chose my husband, and it wasn't up to us to "make" my parents like him. They had misgivings - he was rough around the edges, and my mother's crazy - but I was a grown-ass adult, and so was he, so it wasn't up to us to be perfect and win my parents' approval. It was up to us to live our lives and be happy, end of story.

But also, I'm with Kuus. I need to know if you're dad's crazy and overly involved in your life, or if this guy is a jerk.
