Wedding day fears

What are your wedding day fears?

For me, Im hoping the baby of one of my guests doesn't cry and make a scene. Im hoping if the baby does cry, mom will take the baby away to calm him down. Petty, I know.

I also fear tripping on something and/or spilling something on my dress.

Re: Wedding day fears

  • My biggest fear right now is the weather. We have an outdoor ceremony and reception and currently there is no back up plan, so I really hope it doesn't rain!

  • That we wont start on time and ppl will bring their kids when the invite will say adult reception only

  • Rain, a vendor not showing up, or me forgetting something at home (home is 1 1/2 hours away)

  • Uninvited guests - children and adults.  We've already had a couple people make assumptions they would be invited to our wedding, when we don't even like them.
  • That both sets of parents and our WP will be late for pictures, and people just being late in general lol! I'm one of those people that's chronically early and something would have to truly get in my way for me to be late :-P

I have that first fear too about the baby... FSIL is pregnant and is due in march and wants to bring the baby to the ceremony, which I am a little iffy about, but I am just hoping he/she sleeps through it. Her MIL or aunt will most likely be watching her because FSIL is in the BP, so I hope whoever has her has the decency to take her out to the hall as well.
My other fears are a couple certain someones drinking too much at the reception and no one dancing.

  • i recently discovered this board, but i'm a may 2013 bride :)  (have been for like a year.. lol)

My biggest fear is uninvited guests. A big fear because it's probable. We're doing an immediate family only wedding in Oahu because that's where FI is from / his family lives. Kind of pairing it with a family vacation on my side to make it worth it for them. Anyways! FI's family is samoan and I guess it's a huge cultural thing to have a big wedding, invite all the extended relatives you've only met once in your life to it, etc. We aren't doing that.

But his dad doesn't understand and/or doesn't like it. In both FI's older brother and sister's weddings, his dad has taken it upon himself to invite those "extra" family members and they didn't find out until the day of. At a wedding ceremony where there's only 11 people in the 'audience' - that's a big deal. AGH!
