    Thank you, all!  My wife and I went out for a nice dinner together, then came back and ate some of the top tier of our wedding cake.  I have to say, I've heard people say that a wedding cake won't really survive that long.  However, ours definitely did.  NotFroofy had made a traditional British fruit cake with marzipan and royal icing.  The traditional British fruit cake, unlike the commercial American version, does not contain candied fruit.  Instead, you soak the dried fruit in alcohol, then add more alcohol to it.  I have the feeling that cake might have kept for a year, even if we hadn't frozen it!  ;-)
