Hey Ladies!!! I've missed all of you! We just got back from our honeymoon a couple of hours ago and I figured I would go ahead and do my recap.
On Friday my MOH came and we packed everything up and loaded it up into DH's truck. After a couple of errands we went and got our nails and toes done. My mama got me a gift certificate to the nail shop for xmas so my pampering was free! It was very relaxing and the shop treated us like royalty while we were there...hot stone massages, waxing, nails, toes, etc. After that we headed to the reception venue and started decorating. I had no idea it was going to take that long to decorate but we had a lot of help from my BM and his GM...so everything went smooth. The rehearsal was great. Of course black folks can't get anyway on time, so we started 30 minutes late and only had about 15 minutes to run through everything. Went to the rehearsal dinner and handed out gifts and everyone loved their gifts! We had an Italian theme rehearsal dinner...very tasty!! After that we went and checked into our bridal suites. Our suites were side by side but we didn't see each other. The guys went out for DH's bachelor's party and me and the girls stayed in the room and had our own party while drinking wine! I didn't go to sleep at all!!!!! I tried to but I couldn't! I called my mama at 5:30am to tell her I couldn't go to sleep and she tried to help. Needless to say...I was up all night. I was so tired the morning of the wedding but of course I didn't even think about it!
Saturday we started our day at 7am. We went and had breakfast at Burger King and then headed to the Chapel. I started getting my hair and makeup done at 9am because our first look pictures were at 10:30am. Our first look pictures were amazing! We both cried!! He swore up and down that he wasn't going to cry and he did! The first look was such a good idea and I recommend it to everyone. After the first look we took our bride/groom pictures, our wedding party pictures, family pictures, and then my bridal pictures. The plan was to have ALL the pictures done by the ceremony and we did it! The ceremony started at 1:30pm and all our pictures were done by 12:45pm...just in time for the guest to arrive. We started right at 1:30! 1:30 hit and our parents started walking out. The ceremony was truly awesome! It wasn't a dry eye in the Chapel. DH was crying AGAIN...even though he said he wasn't going to cry at all lol! Our vows made everyone cry. I didn't choke up until the last two sentences of mine...which surprised me! The bubble exit was a big hit. Everyone blew the bubbles and it made for a great photo op.
Headed to the reception and our wedding party was sooo cute. The girls came in to "Pretty Girl Rock" by Keri and the guys came in to "Pretty Boy Swag" by Soulja Boy. Our wedding party was dancing and they made it very entertaining. We came out to "One In A Million" by Neyo (the chorus part) and went into our first dance which was "Unthinkable" by Alicia Keys. The first dance was awesome until the DJ's computer froze up in the middle of our first dance song!! I was so pissed! I started crying on the dance floor because that's one of the most important parts of the reception and he messed up that moment for us. We went and sat down and he tried to get us to come back on the floor for a redo but I told him no lol...I was too pissed! We had some great toasts...we felt so loved by our friends and family and everyone was making us tear up. I don't think I've ever cried that much in one day! Our cupcake cake turned out great...very tasty. Got it from Publix and we only spent $160 for the cupcakes and the groom's cake!
All in all everyone told us how much fun they had and how pretty everything was! I'm sooo glad the planning is over and I wish you ladies a happy planning! The honeymoon was awesome. It was much needed and very relaxing! I'll try to post pictures and the video trailer in a little bit!!! Sorry so long lol!
