Sent permit application, now wait?

I faxed our 2nd line permit application august 24. Called yesterday to followup and was told they work on a schedule 15 days out from the parade date and they would call me at that time.

Does that sound right?

I was told the same thing, kind of.  They said I would hear from them 30 days out.  I plan to start calling and bothering them on Day 30 :-)

Hahaa ok, guess I'll just call every so often just in case.

I called and emailed and got the same answer.  They said they would send an invoice 15 days before.  To me that sounds like a pretty quick turnaround (15 days before invoice sent, 13 days before I receive invoice, send out check that day if possible, they receive 11-10 days before in best case scenario).

I am a little nervous about it, but like you, bezlu, I'll be calling 30 days out for sure.

PS - I also asked the price and was told $50.25.  Since everyone on here has been saying the fixed cost is $375 since the new policy was enacted recently, I figured I was misquoted.  Just thought that was strange.  I am trying not to be unreasonable here, but it does make me question this process.  I just want to make sure that everything works out, that we have the permit in hand and the appropriate about of escorts in the end.

The extra money is what it costs for the police escort day of. $50.25 is the application fee. It is, I believe, $100 per officer.

@MarcusandMelissa good thing we're getting married months apart, so we wont be driving them crazy at the same time :-)

@QueenJane correct, the $300 extra is for 3 police officers.  They used to determine how many officers you needed based on your number of guests (something like one for every 75) but now they just do a standard 3-cop escort.  Or at least, they charge you for a standard 3-cop escort-- I don't know if everyone actually gets 3, if they have a small wedding for instance.
