Crowne Plaza Advice please!

Ok I need some advice. My fiance and I are in love with the idea of being on the water so we thought the crowne plaza would be perfect. Well when I asked about parking one person told me they have plenty. Then I asked another person how many parking spots they had and she told me they only do valet and my guests would be charged to park there. I really dont like the idea of my guests having to pay to park at our wedding! Is it worth it? Or has any one had a good or bad experience with the crowne plaza?

We are having our ceremony and reception at the Crowne on October 2nd.  Per the contract, the wedding guests receive free valet parking for the ceremony.  If you have guests that are staying at the hotel overnight, they are charged $8.  So if you are just worried about parking for the ceremony, you don't have to worry about spots because they valet for you.

We came really close to having our reception there.  We had it worked into our costs that we'd pay for our guests parking.  The valet bill would just be added to our bill.

Ok  they told me it was $4 dollars for guests who were not staying  at the hotel and $12 for guests who are staying at the hotel. I just asked a friend of mine and she said they had free valet for her wedding in June. Thanks so much. Im just trying to budget myself and dont want to see all these additional charges I was never told about!

I emailed the lady and she said the free parking ws a special for those who booked in a certain 9 months and the special ended august 2009...This is so frustrating!

Can anyone tell me the general price per person for the crown plaza?  Also does the room face the river?  If it has a deck that would be amazing.  Please let me know!  Thanks

Its around 55 per person for the recption if you want a full bar. They have one room that faces the river, but you can only fit around 80 people in there without a dance floor. They have a ballroom that can fit up to 999 but it doesnt face the river

We are having our reception at the Crowne Plaza next year.  I didn't think the valet cost was an issue.  It's only $4 for my guests to valet. Knowing that my grandparents and older relatives won't have to walk through a parking lot in the dark was enough for me.  Have you talked to Stacy, who does the weddings?  She is so nice and has been great to work with.  Even with my dumb questions all the time, and I still have a year to go!  I guess you just need to weigh your options and see what's best for your guests and budget.  Good Luck!

I don't know how they've done with weddings there lately but I know a lot of people (brides and corporate) who have had bad experiences there with food, parking and guest rooms.  I know that valet is a problem there and it takes awhile to get your car when you do want to leave.  I would try to pull up old posts about them, I think they used to be called the Toledo Riverfront or Riverview Hotel too so check old posts.  Tripadvisor is a good source too...
