Cupcake Failure :(

I made some cupcakes for our e-pics (which are technically today as it's after 12). Total fail.

I had a general idea, but wasn't exactly sure what I was doing - only one thing I was sure of. The rest, nada. The photographer shared some ideas with me which I liked a lot, so I tried to go off  that which lead to a mental block on what to do which eventually lead to failure lol





I don't like the "05" and the "25" especially directly below/top of each other. I was thinking of stagering them a bit, but had no clue how to make that work properly (they're sitting in a cupcake container). I did them in the container like this so the photographer would be able to tilt them up so she could get a picture with us in the background - but ain't happenin.

I'm still taking them though because I'm sure we can find something fun to do with them (just not as they are).

I'm sad that it didn't work out as planned, but if I really think everything with planning the wedding will go perfectly, then I'm very mistaken lol

     I dont think they look bad! You could feed them to eachother, thats cute!

    gree with PP have fun with it! I wish I would have taken a few of the props I was planning on but I was bummed it was raining. Don't let that bum your day!

    What if you do 3 different photos for each part of the date
    One picture with the 05
    One picture with the 25
    and and another 2013 or just the 13

    A last photo where you shove cupcakes in eachothers faces? Idk.

    You might be surprised how they look after they are photographed in your pictures :)

    We're still going to take the cupcakes - I sent the photographer a picture and she didn't think they were that bad. We'll still go it, I guess, and it might still be okay!

    We're planning on a couple of things with them - I told FI to make sure we bring wet wipes and paper towels lol

    We're doing our pictures in the park (a few different locations) - of course it's freezing today! Though, I'm just mostly glad that it's not hot (I was more worried about this). Very cloudy (which will probably allow for some better pictures), a chance of rain (30%).

    It actually works out better that it is colder because of the cupcakes - I was worried it'd be hot and the icing would just completely melt off (when tilting it). That or them melting in the car - we are waiting until the end of the session to do anything with the cupcakes.

    We were actually contemplating doing something goofy with them - smashing them in each others face. FI is so whatever about that lol but I thought of that the other day as well as the photographer.

    So, we'll see. Hopefully we can make something enjoyable out of them (especially given the time put into them). She's a good photographer, so I'm sure something will work out and it'll turn out okay.


    Oh, and the cupcakes do look worse in the picture than they actually do. I look at the picture and just hate them, but when I look at the actual cupcakes, they aren't as bad as the picture shows.

    I think a lot of cute things can be done with those! If you have time, maybe you can bump up the lettering a bit bigger/bolder, and that might help them stand out or look a little more finished? It would also help them pop more in the photos -- or your photographer can help them a bit in photoshop to make sure they're legible.

    But I think you have a lot of great ideas!
