Monday evening

Anyone around? How did your week start out? Jury duty has me in a foul mood and unable to discuss it so please entertain me with other topics.

Are there any6 summer shows anyone is looking forward to? We're looking forward to catching up on some of the shows we have missed this season, namely Mad Men and GoT.

Re: Monday evening

  • Heeey. I'd be looking forward to true blood if I had hobo, but alas. Right now, I'm trying to work myself up to finishing the cleaning, since our friends are coming up from Alabama tomorrow night to spend the rest of the week here. Blah. I'm feeling kinda queasy too.
  • Any have you played Diablo III? I keep meaning to buy it but I just don't have the time to play. For some reason the divide between $50 and $60 is too much for me to cross.

Yes, it's totally awesome. I haven't logged on in like a week though because I've been busy, but I love it. And yeah, I was kinda iffy on the 60, but then I think of how much I've spent on WoW over the years and it really pales in comparison, lol. There's no monthly fee, so win for me.
  • Evening!

FI and I are job hunting/apartment hunting right now and watching Love It or List It. I'm pretty pumped for Suits and Burn Notice. I don't watch many shows but I love me some USA Network.

I'm gonna post some pics from my bachlorette party in a bit for your entertainment.

This feels rude to me but I just cant imagine not watching shows in real time. It drives me nuts to watch shows the following day, let alone months later. I dont know how people do it.

We are watching Hells Kitchen cause Adam loves this show. It annoys the piss outta me, but it keeps him from retreating onto his computer so I will put up with it.
  • I played wow for years but quit a while back. I think Diablo will be fun but I worry the lack of a social connection will lessen my interest.

<div>You can play with a couple other people at a time,  but I always liked being able to play solo. Too much WoW drama over the years =P</div>

[QUOTE]Nebb, we try to watch almost everything when it's on, but that didn't work last night. I've tried to avoid all talk of the show today. Ha.

We only just finished watching GoT a few minutes ago. It ran long and would have cut into Mad Men so we chose to watch the Killing instead. People are terrible with GoT spoilers on twitter. Earlier in the season someone I know tweeted "SOMEONE STOLE THE...." (I wont give it away now, you know what I mean) and I was so pissed.

Evening! H is cooking dinner, we just got back from taking Atticus for a walk. So, I'm watching Love It or List It as well. H always asks if we're moving soon or something, he hates when I watch these shows.

Tonight I have to watch The Glades and Mad Men, because last night was The Killing.

Hi all! I just got home from work, and H is in class for a while longer, so I'm going to have a bowl of cereal for dinner, I think.

I'm watching America's Got Talent. I wish it was more of the talent and less of Howie and Howard and Sharon and Nick.

We don't have cable and don't want to pay for Hulu+, so we just wait for stuff to come out on DVD. I can't wait for Psych!

We don't have cable so missing shows live is a given. However, i try not to cry too much about spoilers since it is our choice. GoT doesn't matter to me since i have read them all.

  • Okay I'm about to get all sorts of AW on your asses.

Yeah we had mustaches. It's creepy how much I look like my dad with one of them on lol. Very fun.

The "reserved" sign for the table at the yacht club (bar) on the island. They had it at the table that FI and I met. I cried (okay I was a little tipsy), I thought it was so sweet.

NWR AW: I registered for my first half-marathon today! I'm doing the Detroit/Windsor Half on October 21st. I'm very excited to start getting serious with my training in a few weeks. I did pretty well in my 10K so I'm upping my expectations from "finish" to  "finish in a decent time". Time TBD. I'm thinking 2 hours right now but we'll reevaluate soon.

  • Hola everyone!  I'm being a nerd and looking up stuff about the WI recall election that's taking place tomorrow.  In doing so, I found this article:

thoughts? CN: a 'netural' group sent out a mailer that showed whether or not your neighbor voted recently. Apparently it's public record.

Hmm doesn't really bother me. Hopefully it will get more people to vote. I think it should be public record.

Most of my friends dont vote, despite my constant guilt trips. I dont think that will do much other than just invite additional side eyes.
  • Sending out a flyer that shows I don't vote, isn't going to get me to vote. If anything, it would make me do the opposite out of spite. I'm mature like that.

I couldn't live without cable either. I know we could really afford to save that monthly cost, but at the same time, it keeps me sane by giving me something else to focus on rather than crap going on IRL. Plus, it's fun.

My uncle's  FI has started a countdown to their wedding on FB. She sees it as a countdown to the wedding. I read it as a countdown to my vacation.
  • That's kind of what I was thinking too, Nebb.  This whole recall has REALLY divided the state of WI.  It's pretty bad, to be honest. I don't think this is going to help anything.

Plus, to be honest. I don't want people voting that aren't (at least a little) educated on the topics/candidates.  In an ideal world, people would care enough research and want to vote. But they aren't/don't, so I'd rather they not vote then. You know?

  • I don't think that part is public record, Duds.  Regarding the disclosure - I don't think it will spur non-voters to go and vote.

How do you remember so many random details about everyone?
  • Yeah.  It would make things a little more interesting if it were public record, though.

  • Evening ladies!

I got off work a couple of hours ago and now I'm messing around on the Internet while watching the Spurs/Thunder game.  FI is working an overnight and I have to be at work at 9 tomorrow so it's gonna be an uneventful night for me.

I bartended by myself for the first time today and that was fun.  I really need to learn time management while doing it.  I literally spent all day cutting fruit because our stupid lime/lemon slicer is broken and we have to cut them by hand.  And after hacking into my finger on Friday, I'm a lot more cautious with the sharp things.  We were steady all day until around 4 (My replacement came in at 5).

At least I made more money than I did yesterday.  Last night was completely pointless.
