Wedding Invitations & Paper

Wedding Programs

I'm on a budget, so I don't totally feel the need to have wedding programs however I always keep the ones I receive from all the other weddings I've been too. So I generally like them/think that they're cute.
However I'm trying to decide if it's necessary to have them or if I should just use that money for something else?

Opinions please? :)

Re: Wedding Programs

  • I bought paper on clearance from oriental trading. It came out to a penny a page.  So we did ours for under $2.

  • Or you can get the last 6 numbers off of a box you like from gartner and go to their website at gartnerstudios.com, plug in the number and download the template and make your own. That is what we are doing (and am folding them as I read this). I got cardstock on sale now at 50% off from Joann's (50 sheets for $2) and printed them up.

We are using them as "time fillers" for people who might come early and have nothing to do. I've included some stuff like "this day in history"  which had some really weird events happen on June 24, and some hidden snarky comments like 1:00 - groom enters. 1:02 - groom remembers he forgot something and 1:03 - groom enteres again.

All in all - it is taking me maybe 2 hours to do and the cost is minimal.
  • We weren't going to do programs either, but then realized that most people would be wanting them.  We are also having an outdoor wedding at the end of June, so we thought the fan programs would be a good idea.  I know there are plenty of online DIY ideas for the fan programs that involve cardstock and a stick the size of a paint stick.
